Healthy Blender Recipes for New Year Vacation

The best thing about the New Year is that we can enjoy the holiday season together. Summer holiday is not as good as the New Year because my children may enjoy their holiday, but I and my husband certainly cannot escape from our job. New Year holiday is a holiday for everyone.

We start having days off around Christmas and we can still enjoy free time several days after the New Year.Although it is not as long as summer holiday, it is definitely a very entertaining moment because we, as members of a happy family, can gather together and enjoy our free time.

We decide to spend this New Year holiday to do a picnic. We have done this activity numerously whenever a new year arrives and we still think that there are still a lot of interesting places that we haven’t visited. It is not like a regular picnic where you have to go home at the end of the day, though.

It is more like a camping activity where you will spend a night or two at the camping site entertaining yourself and your companions under the beauty of the clear star-lit sky and spend your days to explore and to enjoy the beauty of the nature. For us, this activity is always interesting. My children rarely spend their time with the nature, even during their summer holiday. So it will be good for us to enjoy the beauty of the nature once every year.

Because we only do this kind of interesting activity once in a year, we have to make sure that everything is perfectly prepared. My children have to make sure that their belongings are taken care of, my husband takes care of vehicle and accommodation, and I have to deal with everything that we will consume while we are away from my beloved kitchen.

Is it difficult for us to get prepared? For me, it is quite manageable, especially because I have this faithful Nutribullet blender at my side. Our need of drinking is three times bigger than our need of eating. This is why I try to start my sharing here by mentioning some delicious beverages that you can prepare by using this blender. Because we are talking about foodstuffs coming from the nature, it is better if I start by explaining a kind of drink that sounds herbal.

This drink is called Happy Herby Juice. To prepare this delicious beverage, you need to prepare 1 bunch flat-leaf parsley, 1 bunch cilantro, 1 bunch of mint, 1 to 2 green apples, 1/2 peeled lemon, and ½ cup of water. Mix all of those ingredients using the blender and turn on the blender until they are totally pulverized. Drinking this juice while it is still foamy and cold can truly tickle your tongue.

Another recipe that I also love very much to prepare is Creamsickle Dream. To prepare one, in addition to the blender, you need such ingredients as 1 large peeled orange, ½ cup of frozen pineapple, ½ cup of non-fat plain Greek yogurt, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ice cubes, and milk or almond milk. Just put all of those ingredients inside the blender’s cup and let them pulp and pulverize.

Now We Proceed to Our Main Course

If you think that a blender can be used only to prepare liquid juices, which are categorized as beverages, you are wrong. There are actually many delicious foods that you can prepare by using this special blender. Those foods are real foods that can be your main courses and not only appetizers or desserts. Nevertheless, I would like start with desserts first because dessert is what a blender is usually used for.

A delicious dessert recipe that I would like to introduce here is veggie dip. It contains onion and garlic to give additional flavor to the dip. Your children might love it very much because my children also love it. To prepare this dip, you need to gather such ingredients as 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt, 3 chopped green onions, 1/4 teaspoons dill weed, 1/8 teaspoons garlic powder, and a pinch of ground pepper.

Besides using the blender, you also need to use knife to cut most of those ingredients. You can also use measurement cup and spoon to do the measurement job as precisely as possible. Put all ingredients in the blender’s cup and crush them until smooth.

Now we can prepare the main course of our meal. My family members love eating everything that has meat in it, so I usually use my blender to prepare such meaty meals as beef stew by blending cooked beef with beef bouillon; crushed meat by mixing cooked meat, hot broth, salt, and pepper; chicken and noodles by crushing and mixing boiled chicken meat, noodles, mashed potatoes, and hot chicken broth; and steak and mushrooms by blending crooked steak, mashed potatoes, mushroom soup or gravy, and hot milk until smooth. You can try those recipes if they sound delicious.
